Grateful for the many blessings and favors that I enjoy in my life. I am a Muslimah mommy trying to raise my four children in a place where we are still strangers. I love to cook and entertain. I believe and preach the whole food, organic lifestyle as it closest to the Sunnah. As I cook three meals from scratch everyday, this blog is to celebrate food and family.
I am third culture child born in Karachi, Pakistan but bred on my Ammi ‘s mutton pulao and succulent shwa’arma in Dubai, U.A.E and raised on crispy ta’amiya of the Sudan. First year in college, I spent making lentils in a tiny dorm kitchen for fellow international students and searching for zabihah in Haymarket, Boston. Finished up university in gastronomically delightful New Orléans, fueled by beignets and chicory coffee. Marriage introduced me to the Philly cheese steak and my mother-in-law’s biryani.
After seven years, all-natural California is almost becoming home. Making my deen (way of life) earth-friendly is very important to me. I was green before it became trendy!
Even though I was born Muslim, I never really thought about my deen as a teen. Wasn’t until after college I started my journey back to Allah. This is why I am passionate about working with youth. It is a constant journey- I try to find Allah in every day things- come hang out with me and share your journey to God with me.
ALHAMTHULILLAH
Alla has shown you the right way. If Allah is with us we have to lead our life as it is in Al Quran and The prophet`s way
